The Student Innovation Challenge, Shaping Queensland’s Entrepreneurs is the first-ever internationally focused state-wide innovation competition for young people (14-21 years). It represents strong collaboration between industry, government and the education sector combining their knowledge to nurture our next generation of business innovators. The aim of the program is to develop a global brand synonymous with international collaboration, innovation and excellence that can be used to promote Queensland as a study destination. This poster will explore how Queensland’s entrepreneurs and business community are engaging international students in innovative learning through real-life experience and mentorship by industry. This poster outlines the benefits of engaging industry and educators together, drawing upon examples from project partners including the Sarina Russo Group, Queensland University of Technology, University of Queensland, Griffith University, Indooroopilly State High School and the Queensland Government. It will also demonstrate how entrepreneurial programs such as these can positively impact student employability and graduate outcomes.
